The Pennam Foundation, a Hyderabad-based non-profit organization has organized Pedal for a Cause – The Summer Cyclothon, a 26-kilometer cycling event on 15 May 2022 (Sunday), in association with Solunus Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Kairos Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
The event kick-started at the Hyderabad Bicycling Club (HBC) in Gachibowli, at 6 AM. Mr. Rahul Vijay, a well-known actor, graced the occasion and flagged off the cyclothon.
The cycling event received a tremendous response with more than 100 people actively taking part in it. All participants were provided with helmets and other sports gear, medical assistance, water bottles and snacks.
In the first leg of the cyclothon, the participants reached Raidurg from the HBC, and then, proceeded to Narsingi. Thereafter, they pedaled to Gandipet covering a distance of 13 kilometers. They returned to the HBC from Gandipet following the same route, completing the 26-kilometer cyclothon.
The funds raised through the cyclothon were donated to the Pennam Foundation, which will utilize the money to support various charitable and community development activities.
Expressing his happiness at the successful completion of the cycling event, Mr. Sudhakar Pennam, founder of the Pennam Foundation said, “Our foundation organizes several programs for the underprivileged. We actively collaborate with various organizations, including members of the Pledge 1% movement, to launch high-impact community development programs. I’d like to thank everyone who has participated in the cyclothon and made it a big success. We hope to come up with more programs to help the needy.”
